Real-Time Marketing Automation with WebHooks
Today’s new feature is dedicated to marketers and developers who are interested in taking their data-driven marketing to the next level. Thanks to our latest software release you will now be able to setup WebHooks to get push notifications to your application or server when your customers satisfy a business rule.
What’s a WebHook?
If you aren’t familiar with WebHooks, don’t worry - they are really easy to understand. WebHooks are a system for sending a message from a web server when something happens. It’s the simplest form of an event notification system and it makes integrating Performable into your application super simple compared to traditional APIs.
Implementing a push system like this is much easier than having your application constantly polling our servers to find out if something new has happened.
How does it work?
Using our marketing automation product, Engage, you can already create cross-channel and platform business rules that trigger marketing actions like sending a cohort of users an email or series of emails. However, with the new WebHook feature you can decide what actions to take when users meet your business rules, because Performable’s servers will notify your application or server directly.
We first heard of the need for WebHooks from our mobile application developer customers. Imagine being able to trigger a custom notification to appear in your mobile application based on business rules defined by your marketing team.
Using Engage, your marketing and business teams can easily setup cross-channel business rules with no help from your IT department or developers.
